Giulia Tofana

17th Century Vigilante Responsible For Poisoning Over 600 Men

Giulia Tofana is known for inventing the deadly (and untraceable) poison known as Aqua Tofana, which was the most feared cause of death by men living in Renaissance Italy. She exclusively sold her poisons to women trapped in abusive or loveless marriages, freeing them from their servitude and/or existence as their husbands’ property.
