Ma Rainey lived her life loud and proud, doing what she believed she was on this earth to do: tell stories and share truth with the world through the power of music. Specifically, the Blues, a genre she claims to have invented. She was a tremendous performer who serves as an inspiration to generations of musicians whose work we still appreciate today.
